I've been friending new people, and I suppose that means I need to get this thing up to date again. So, without further ado here's what I'm up to lately:
Living
Yes, I am alive. And damn happy about it.
More to the point, I'm currently living with my parents again, out in Acton where the deer and the antelope roam. Or something like that. It's not ideal, but it's the only thing that makes financial sense for me right now.
Working
Still at Starbucks. Still happy there. No, I don't want to be promoted; I could probably make it happen, but I don't have the time or energy to devote to new job functions right now. And besides, the money isn't much better.
Schooling (not a verb, I know)
I'm officially a degree candidate at the Harvard Extension School. Among other cool things, this means that I get complete access to the Harvard libraries, and provided I don't tank my GPA this semester, I'll be able to apply to take classes at Harvard College starting next year. I love it. (I seem to have a lot of good things in my life right now, don't I?)
Volunteering
I recently started training as a hotline counselor at the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center. It's stressful, and I am completely ready to be trained and to do my best to make the world a better place.
Dating
I have a girlfriend. She has a husband. He doesn't know about me. It's a messy situation, relieved only by the fact that I don't get to see her very often anyways. I am actively looking for other people - she knows this and is happy with it.
Driving
I has a license! Seriously, it's great. I'm still not up for city driving, but I can get myself to Cambridge and back without help, which makes my life a thousand times easier.
I don't drink and drive. This means I don't drive, and then drink. I have pretty much no tolerance for alcohol, and pretty much have to avoid it unless I want to call my parents for a ride home. (You can guess how much I like doing that.) So, no fine wines and cocktails for me, unless I happen to be at my house or have someone to drive my car home.
