So Thursday D come in and when I ask her what she has for homework she says, "Well... I have to write a paper on a scientist..."
I start asking questions about what kind of paper, did she need to do research, when is it due?
"Uhhh... tomorrow..."
"Tomorrow?"
"Yeah..."
"When did you get this assignment?"
"I just got the paper today."
"Let me see that." The assignment paper was titled "Second Six Weeks Science Project."
So she tells me she lost the original paper which was handed out who knows how long ago, and they just got her a new sheet the day before it was due. So we loged on to the TexShare Databased and she wrote about half a page before bed time. And that's what she took to school, along with a letter to her teacher from me that basiclly said her ass was grounded and she'd be working on it this weekend whether she would be given credit or not.
She was going to get to go to her first sleep over on Friday. Cancelled. She did the project today. She will be cleaning her room tomorrow. She won't be watching tv all week. She's been eating with her back to the tv because I'm not punishing everyone else.
Being a parent sucks.
When I saw my dad on Friday he said he wanted to point and laugh at me. Thanks, Dad.
I made the best roast ever. Tom Thumb had London broil on sale in the family packs. I cut it up into chunks and threw it into the crock pot. I dumped a pint of slices button mushrooms and a quart of salsa that I bought from On the Border ($5.40 for a quart of salsa, Hell yeah). It cooked on low for about 6 hours and it was tender and tasty.
I realized last night that I had 3 bottles of Loki's Revenge in the bottom of the pantry that are over 18 months old. I poured about 2 ounces. It was very dark. I am a light weight. but that's all I had. I went straight past tipsy to drunk. and then I went to bed.
