I successfully made fried okra tonight.  I thanked the guy who owns the day care my kids stay at for some black eyed peas he gave us and he gave me some okra and squash.  I tossed it with almond meal, because I'm allergic to corn It was delicious and I ate it all which made my kids happy (I didn't really make that much more than a single serving).

The squash was not as successful.  I steamed it, mashed it and mixed in a touch of honey and some parmesean cheese.  It came out really sweet like apple sauce instead of yellow mashed potatoe the way I pictured.  Both kiddoes are weirded out.  Next time I'll just fry it with onions.

I have hidden chinese food at work.  I can't eat rice at home, but I was determined today for lunch.  I discovered that I could call into my favorite chinese place, and it only took 6 minutes to get there and a little less to get back to work and I had time to eat at my desk.  I have a little anxiety about being in public places on my own so I never eat out for lunch, I always bring something back.  That's probably odd.
