Sunday, Husband went to see his brother and cousin. He talks to these people and it just brings up emotional crap, that he has a hard time dealing with, because none of his relatives will acknowledge his feelings at all. His brother did stuff that sent him to jail and refuses to apologize, even though he has admitted to using his name. He says he's sorry husband went through that, but not that he's sorry he used his name. What a fuck head. I keep explaining, you don't expect more than what a family is supposed to give; your family just sucks. I really wish I could find a therapist for him that had experience with high-functioning-autist/ super-literallly-minded people. He needs more than me to help process all this crap.
I found out last week that we couldn't do the insurance for the new car the way we had it, so I sent in cancellation for the new policy yesterday before I left work. I couldn't call during lunch to see if the car had been moved to my policy, so I called when I got off work, and left a message for the guy I had been talking to. I called the company line to see if he had changed anything, and no. But they did tell me the Dallas office closed early today.
Our last cold snap was much worse. There was ice totally encasing the trees. This isn't bad, in comparison. It's still freaking cold.
I hate being allergic to corn. I ate the taco soup my dad made last night for lunch, and it made al my teeth ache and my sinuses congest.
I made Loki's. I have 2 large bottles, and 3 small. Yummm..... It's supposed to age for 8-12 weeks. I didn't make it very sweet. I'm debating making a simple sugar and sweetening some of it.
I forgot to mention D's glasses. We got them in last week. Now, some glasses quietly perch on your nose and are barely noticable, D's glasses jump up and down and yell, "I Have GLASSESS!!!" with jazz hands. If I can figure out how to get pictures off my I phone, I will post them. They are too marvalous for description.
Also, I read the third Mercy Thompson novel by Patricia Briggs, Iron Kissed. I recomend the series. It's a lot of fun. I think I've commented before on Patricia Briggs's talent in creating multi-level characters and awesome plot. She's so good, my Mom is now reading her fantasy novels. My Mom hates fantasy. The first book is Moon Called, and then Blood Bound. Go read them now.
In the first, we meet Mercy, a walker who was raised by were-wolves. Mercy can shift into a very normal looking coyote and she can see ghosts. She has nver met another walker. Her father died in a car accident before she was born. He was an Indian rodeo rider. When Mercy was a toddler, she changed into a coyote pup. That was a lot for her single, teenage mom to deal with, and a much beloved great uncle, who was also a were-wolf, recommended she take Mercy to a particular wolf pack. At least then she would be raised by other shifters. In the first book, she comes up against rogue were-wolves trying to muscle into the local pack's territtory. The second book has her chasing a dangerous warlock/vampire, and the third has her hunting a murderer who has been focusing on the fae and clearing her friend's name.
