Had a great christmas. I still had to work, but the awesome lady working Intake said it was cool if I was late. I got up at 5, like ussual, took my shower. When I turned on the news at 5:40 S came out and turned it off. I don't know how he heard it. I think he went to sleep with his ear protectors on and he was wearing them when he waggled into the living room.
So, when faced with the question of sending him to bed for 20 minutes or showing him the tree, I showed him the tree and encouraged him to go bug his sister. He told her, "It's time to open presents," and she poped out of bed. Husband was not so bouncy. D got Little pet shop stuff, the boards game Rumis, the Lemony Snicket movie, and assorted stuff. S got a new aquostic guitar, a bed tent, lincoln logs, Wall-e, and almost identical assorted stuff. They both got binoculars from the parental units.
Then we loaded up and drove to my parents house where we feasted on hash browns, ham, eggs and french toast. Then we opened more presents.
My bugler didn't come in time. It was supposed to come today, but I haven't gotten a call from my parents so maybe tomorrow. I did get 2 books on pinstriping and painting motorcycles, a book on making ugly stuffed animals and 2 books on biomedical treatments for autism and other disorders.
Actually, it was stuff off my Amazon Wish list. I read Enzymes for Autism and Other Neurological Conditions by Karen L. Defelice today at work. It made me very excited. I ordered the enzyme formulas they talk about specifically in the book. There is a whole section on how to buy them on your own at a store, what to look at on the labels, how to compare. But I went to the company's web site and I liked it. My order should be here on Monday or Tuesday, so we can have almost a week of using them before he goes back to school.
We treated S for intestinal yeast last spring, and he has had major improvement in mood and attitude. He was almost always painfully constipated before that. I think this could help a lot. I'm too tired to try to explain leaky gut and all of that. The book talks about people on CFGF diets that end up going off of them because the enzymes are so effective at breaking down the cassien and gluten. She does say that Celiac sufferers don not get this ability.
