17 Mornings
Happy Wednesday everyone! I think this updating every Wednesday is working for me. I'll try to keep it up while I'm at school.
I had a lot of fun this weekend thanks to Eric, Adrianna, Mike, Derek, Jenn, Alyssa and of course Candise! We went over to Alyssa's house and it was a blast. I haven't seen her in forever, and it just reminded me of how good of friends we really are. I'm going to have to commit to hanging out with her at least 3 times this summer. Seeing Jenn was also fun, but I always feel bad for her. She's stuck in a one sided relationship tied together through a baby. It's sad. Church wasn't bad. The service was only like an hour and a half so that's not too much, but I still don't connect with it. I've never really felt any attachment towards religion, but that's probably due to my parents not being religious. I just feel like... i don't know. I really like the way one of my friends put it, "Religion is a very personal thing that should be between you and your beliefs. Don't let other people influence your views, and decide for yourself what you believe in" and I feel that quote sums up what I feel exactly.
In work news, it's going. I only have 17 work days left (which I could not be more excited about). The second iteration of the aspirator I've been working on finally came in from rapid prototyping. It still has seal issues which makes it hard to test, but hopefully I'll be able to do that this afternoon. On one hand, I want to see it work; but on the other I just want to be done with it. I guess I'm torn. Other than that, I haven't been working on the program that I'm supposed to be working on because I don't know what they want! So, I guess I'll just keep ...not working on it? Yeah, that's what I'll do.
March is an awesome month for me musically. Several of my favorite groups are coming out with new albums, most notably MSTRKRFT (which I have been excited about since this time last year), Royksopp, Junior Boys, and The Whitest Boy Alive *EDIT* I also just found out Miss Kittin and The Hacker are coming out with a new album this month. Seriously. Amazing. I've listened to the Junior Boys new album along with The Whitest Boy Alive. If you haven't heard of The Whitest Boy Alive, then you're missing out on some awesome d.i.y. pop alt. jazz... it's hard to describe, but it's like a mash up of Royksopp's vocals with a toned down Gossip background put through the "Peanuts" background music treatment (and no, not the stupid peanuts theme song... like the background music for the valentine's day episode), all blended with a modern 1973 jazz twist. It's beautiful. The Junior Boys album is good too, but not awesome.
Speaking of music, I found a new to me album it's by Shrift and it's called Lost in a Moment. If you're looking for some beautiful chill music, I highly suggest buying this.
