Weekend
WOO HOO!!!!
GOOD WEEKEND!!!
Friday I went to see a play in Spanish with some of my Spanish class and my friend Amber (the one in the picture). We took a trip down to Rice, practiced Spanish, and had some yummy Mr. Gatti's. While watching the play I thought I wasn't understanding anything, but at the end of Act 1 I asked a native speaker if my interpretation was right and it was. I was very proud of myself for understanding just about everything that was going on expecially when my prof said that it was kinda elevated Spanish :) I think the most fun part of the evening though was talking when Amber and I talked to my prof the whole way home and found out her life story and shared all our future goals with her (it seems we're heading down the same path she took!)
Then Saturday I went to the Astros game with my parents, sister Monique, niece Krystal, and Staci. It was really fun I like seeing my family and making up crazy sounds about finding love with Staci and yelling at the players etc.... Then Staci and I went to Bennigens on the way back to Hville and then went to see Just Like Heaven when we got back (very good movie, even though I'm not all about lovey dovey chick flicks)
Then today I went to the Astros game again with my parents, sister Monique, and Amber and Jenna. It was fun again with the screaming and spending time with my family and the Astros getting the NL Wild-Card Championship again (2nd year in a row). Then when I got home I went to hang out with Christy for about forever......well we went shopping, then her truck broke down and we had to get rescued from Walgreens, went to Taco Bell in my car, then hung out at her cute and adorable little house, then I finally came back home at 11pm. Well I ended up stayin in the lobby till 130 am.....I played Spades with Adam, Ebony, and Laura (from Estill), then I sat playing songs on Rebecca's keyboard (I learned both parts to Heart & Soul, and the first half of the treble clef part of Fur Elise) playing the keyboard for like an hour made me realize 2 things: A. how much I love doing it and B. how natural it comes to me.....so that was cool
Two other things: 1. I'm thinkin about taking a trip somewhere in the US for Spring Break.....any good ideas on where I should go? A few thoughts I already have are: Boston, NYC, or Miami. 2. I was supposed to do a lot of studying and researching this weekend for my 2 tests and research paper that are due this week, but I think the way I spent my weekend was much better!!! Now I just have to buckle down tomorrow and work my butt off!!! oh and another thing #3. I am soooo excited because i was concidering starting up a petition to get the culture and history classes for advanced spanish to be offered in the Spring, but today I looked at the schedule of classes and they are offering a class about Spanish culture and then about life of Spanish speaking places in the Ambericas so I am VERY happy about that!!!
