We need more desserts! more!
Last Friday I had a surprise not quite 30 birthday party for Alasdair. I've been planning this for a couple of months and Friday was the day.
I spent most of Friday gathering sweet thing for that night. First I went to Lakota bakery to pick up cookies instead of cake (he mentioned the night before how his favorite cake was carrot, I've been trying to get that out of him for weeks now). I called around looking for a good carrot cake but with such short notice I decided cookies instead.
On my way back from Lakota I passed by Quebrada and the light bulb that floats over my head suddenly turned on. Turns out they did have carrot cake and soon enough I had a 9" carrot cake with cream cheese frosting yummy!
Soon I remembered that a vegan would be coming and everything I had had buttery Birthday goodness in it.... dagnamit!
Now I dropped the cake and cookies off with a good friend of Alasdair's to bring to the Indian restaurant and I head back into Waltham. Vegan, Vegan, Vegan deserts...... Lizzy's!!!
Off to Lizzy's for a Quart on tofutti coffee ice cream (Lizzy's tofutti is good stuff if you've never had it). Only when I got back home do I realized how sweets I bought for a small surprise party.
In the end the party went off great and we could only eat a fraction of the desserts I bought :)
