Went to see a production of "Rent" this evening. I was so excited, since I assumed after the Broadway closing that I'd never get to see the stage version of this. So i dragged Izzy along and sadly, it disappointed. There were a few redeeming features - the girls playing Mimi and Maureen were really great, and the Maureen girl was pretty good. Most of the guys were just annoying though, and I felt worried when they were singing, because it just seemed that they might screw up at any moment. And the microphones were messed up a lot of the time - Mark's wasn't turned on for his opening monologue, so you could only just hear him above the music.
But, it counts towards the list as a new musical. And amateur production.
It was all for charity though, so that makes it better.
