I've been reading accounts this morning about the airplane landing in the Hudson river. The pilot kept control of his aircraft, behaved in the most professional and expert manner, safely landed his severely damaged plane in a river in such a way as to save the lives of all 155 people on board. Then kept himself, his crew and the passengers calm and focused enough they they all were able to exit the plane and be picked up an rescued.
This man is a hero, by pretty much any definition of the word. He was professional, competent, did what he had to do and potentially risked his own life after the crash to make sure he was the last one out and no one was left behind.
Why does every account that I have read of it seek to cheapen his efforts by calling this a miracle?
