Anthony Rapp = SO good

Jan 25, 2006 22:46

Natalie, Laura and I had been looking forward to Anthony Rapp coming since the first day of school when we found out he'd be coming. Tonight, we finally got to see him speak. I met up with the other Laura and one of her little's, Sharon and we pow-wowed until MARK came on!

Mostly, he talked about his upcoming memoir, Without You: A Memoir of Love, Loss and the Musical Rent. Today was the 10 year anniversary of Jonathan Larson's unexpected death, so he talked about that most. The whole book is about the people he's lost in his life (Jonathan and his mother, and from my understanding, a few other friends)--the excerpts he read were really amazing and I can't wait til the book comes out in February (and the movie comes out Feb. 21!)

He did an a capella version of Seasons of Love that was SO moving he had everybody on their feet. He also answered questions which was annoying at first until the Accent people kept the "omgiloveyou's" to a minimum. Overall, he was so funny and cute, but seemed so real and was actually very helpful to those of us who've suffered from losses.

A+ to Anthony Rapp!
