The Clash - Greatest Hits. Easiest way to find an album you like, see if their sound is up your alley, etc. The Beatles - Same. My Favorite Tracks: Across the Universe, Eleanor Rigby, & Oh, Darling The Killers - EVERY ONE OF THEIR TRACKS. THEY ARE GODS. Fall Out Boy - I like all of their stuff, but Infinity on High is my favorite CD from them and I recommended Believers Never Die Greatest Hits for you. Panic! at the Disco - Again, I like it all, but A Fever You Can't Sweat Out is more pop-dance-punk this hard to describe high-energy sound while Pretty. Odd. their second is indie, and their third is more poppy but in an alternative way? Why can I not name their genre. Favorite Tracks: Camisado, Behind the Sea, Northern Downpour, & Nine in the Afternoon. The Like - I did a post on them in Ghost Marshes. The Vaccines - OH GOD. THEY ARE SUCH A GREAT SUMMER BAND. This is going to be great, their debut album What Did You Expect (from the Vaccines)? Will be the perfect soundtrack for your seasons of warmer weather. You shall love me. Two Door Cinema Club - It took me like a year to like them, but all of a sudden it was like I was first discovering them and I think they're quite brilliant now. They don't kill me with it, but I have a fond place for them. Fun. - Again, growing on me. Like Some Nights better than their first album. (C'Mon their song with Panic! at the Disco is perfect.) (Side-note: I made a playlist with the Vaccines, Two Door Cinema Club, The Like, Vampire Weekend, and Fun and it's kind of perfect and amazing and blends really well so if you like those bands blend them into a playlist and then enjoy.) Cobra Starship - I can't say their band name without hearing that mechanic Cob-ra Star-ship in the beginning of 'Good Girls Go Bad' but my favorite kind of pop. Really good 'I just wanna dance/have fun' music. 3oh!3 - ^ Counting Crows - EVERYTHING THEY'VE EVER DONE. THEIR LYRICS ARE THE MOST AMAZING THING. Empires - Amazing, amazing little indie rock band. I made a playlist for them in the marshes too. Seriously though, very awesome. Metric - They've been growing on me, I am totally in love with a few of their tracks. Bob Dylan - Just an amazing man. Even if you don't love his stuff you will acknowledge that he's a great musician- just fact. Tom Waits - I love his Rain Dogs something fierce, still going through the rest, keep you updated. The Strokes - Obviously. Brilliant. I'll make you a sampler if you want. The White Stripes - They very brightest. Local Natives - A+, also they're like indie kid bait so Dear and the Headlights - One of my favorite indie band Playradioplay! - I found this artist by random and now I love him. He's kind of odd. Favorite tracks : I am a Pirate, You are a Princes, Elephants as Big as Whales, Cop Cars and Charities Phantom Planet - I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee them. Like, I want to fold them up in my pocket and see in a lonely room and just smile because I know they're there. I don't know. Love.
Libba Bray's A Great and Terrible Beauty Trilogy - Historical Fantasy. Oddly extremely enjoyable given it's not my genre of choice. Michael Grant's Gone series - A dark tale about a town where the adults suddenly disappear. Ellen Hopkins Works - Twisted tales told in verses, not a series. (Though a few are connected.) Scott Westerfeld's Uglies series - About a society where you're made beautiful at a certain age. Antoine de Saint-Exupery's The Little Prince - The most amazing book you will ever read.
My mind is blanking out! I'll have more later. So many books sitting unread on my book shelf.
