So I'm not allergic to my house... but now I get to look forward to needles! Hurray! But at least it's a much easier fix.
So I'm up late. Not surprising, given that I slept from about 7:30 until 11:30 or so. Yeah, just kinda happened.
I ordered a bunch of Eddie Izzard DVDs last week and they arrived today, much to my delight. Tonight I watched Circle and Dress to Kill, and Glorious, Definite Article, & Unrepeatable are sitting there waiting for me. Does it matter that I know the audio by heart? Not at all. One, I get to see the gestures and facial expressions, which add a great nuance to the whole thing. Moreover, it is now a whole lot easier to share with other people! And I like sharing.
I used to hate doing research. I still kinda do, but it's mildly amazing how good I've gotten at finding things and using Georgetown's subscriptions to acquire so much copyrighted material. It's all for work, of course, but fact is it is also a great repository of anthropological research that I can use, like I did during my final papers for example. Today I actually managed to track down a pdf image of a Washington Post article from 1983 announcing the start of SHARE/MACS (Study to Help AIDS Research Effort / Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study). it was quite fun. Still am trying to find the more extensive article from the Baltimore Sun, but their archives only go back to 1990, and gtown doesn't have any microform of the paper, so now I'll have to search other area libraries, probably in person. However, it's a fun task, and utterly boring to anyone reading this, I'm sure.
For a shorter week, this one has gone on forever. It's finally thursday, but I felt like it was thursday on tuesday.
