http://www.newsweek.com/id/233844/page/1 If the dating is correct these standing stones are the oldest monuments on the planet, full stop, many thousands of years older than the pyramids, and lending (in my mind) additional credence to Schoch & Coxill's hydroerosion dating of the Sphinx (which is widely disbelieved by aegyptologists and archaeologists based on the lack of [other] archeological evidence of monument-building capability 7,000 years ago).
