Once again you shake me down the core. This was shocking and filled with the type of rage and devotion one could expect from these 2. Excellent work again.

Encore! Encore! Encore! *cheeky grin*

So glad you liked this! I - while writing whis story - liked to think it was kind of a milestone for me: the storyline is far more "adult" and serious, and all that... :D

Not that I am yet where I want to be, in my writing-style etc... I have a way to go yet.

Well, the encore has to wait... And I suppose I won't continue this in any way... That idea was buried a long ago :)

i can't believe only one person ever responded to this piece- it's been so tragic and sad yet so true- i love that he couldn't kill for himself, only alexander- very true to Hephaistion's core I think- only for his king

but i want to know more- how Hephaistion finally healed- did he get sent home? would he still be a soldier? would things ever be the same?

beautiful piece! and Hephaistion blaming himself- him telling alexander he failed and that he was sorry that he broke- so heart breaking- beautiful beautiful piece

This is such an old fic... back then, when I posted this, no one really knew me. Not on LiveJournal, anyway.

In my opinion, Hephaistion continued with Alexander just like before. The man has his pride, he wasn't deadly wounded, and he has a position to maintain. Sending him home wouldn't be really that smart - nor would Alexander want that, I assume ;)

Thank you for reading and reviewing!
