Hell yeah you fuckin' suck!
Cool business, yesterday was really fun. I got to the Embassy around 2 and started loading in all of Strapping Young Lad's gear. There were two guys in charge of all that, plus their sound guy... one of the guys & the sound guy were pretty cool but the other dude was just in a bad mood it seemed... I almost feel bad every time I see the crestfallen look on a band or crew member's face the first time they see the Embassy.
After we loaded all the stuff in (we also helped Goatwhore with their gear) we got SYL's rider from Noel. The shopping list included a whole bunch of groceries and a couple bottles of booze. It was the coolest shopping trip I've ever been on, solely because I was shopping for SYL.
I spent the remainder of the afternoon before the show started drinking beers and hanging out with the BiB guys, reading a bit, and generally getting more & more excited. I didn't watch much of HA or BiB, I didn't want to wear myself out before the show. Instead I hung out with the Goatwhore guys on the patio and wandered around.
At about 8:30 or 9, I got a hell of a surprise when Natassja peaked her face through a hole in the patio fence. Apparently she made it up for the show after all... awesome! That really made my night. Goatwhore were really good, and funny as hell. Strapping Young Lad fucking killed, they blew my damn head off, a good mix of old & new stuff- but no Detox! I was a little upset actually, but c'est la vie, the did play it when I saw them 3 years ago.
Nat had to head out right away, so we loaded up SYL's gear then had a beer. The other two guys loading up were heading home but I ended up going to Crabby Joe's with Noel to meet a couple of his buddies. It was cool to hang out with him in Noel-mode, rather than Inertia-mode.
