CHRISTIANS TO THE LIONS!
Yesterday was a constant upwards swing, from very shitty and lame to totally awesome. I worked at 6am and was still upset from the night before, where things got a little heated at home- nothing involving me, but still, that shit gets to me. However, a "manssiere" joke & compliment on my work habits later I was in fine form again.
Getting ready for the show was a breeze, although when we picked up the keys from Adam's house, his mom failed to inform us that he was home from work & just in the shower but he met us at the jamspace anyways.
I've really come to strongly respect Noel, at least in a more specific and informed way than before. I have known always that he was a successful promoter, but working with him has really helped me understand what makes him so.
We played... decently. Not our best set but it was fun nonetheless. It was great to see so many friends in the crowd, and so many strangers as well. Eclipse Eternal was over the top but in a pretty awesome kind of way, I enjoyed them a lot. Behemoth KILLED. I've seen them before, and this was 10x better... and it was pretty good the first time around. The setlist rocked, Nergal's banter rocked, everything was fucking spot-on. I absolutely love that band.
Afterwards a bunch of us went to Crabby Joe's (thanks Chrystie for helping us with gear & driving us there!), it was pretty cool. I liked having Natassja come hang out with my friends. We got drunk on 32 oz beers and ate ribs. It rocked.
When we got home around 2, dad had set out an air matress... it would seem it was expected that Nat and I wouldn't be sharing my bed. That kind of sucked, but c'est la vie. Today we drank tea and ate sushi and then I saw her off to the bus stop and worked til 9. It rained on me on the way home and I got soaked.
I am drained, relieved, content, and utterly in love.
