Sorry the title sounds so stalkish. Correction.
Today I decided to pop over to Raffles Hotel in search of Sho('s photo).
So coincident, Japan aired this 謎解きはディナーのまえに”!?in シンガポール today. Haha if I have known they will be airing that program, I would have watched the program and then plan more places to visit and take photographs at the exact spot where they took the photos.
So today's post will be on Raffles Hotel only.
Let's begin tracing the sights that Sho and Nazodi team saw.
Be mindful that the Hotel for staying is the one where this person, the legendary doorman, who welcomes you and open your taxi door for you.

This place (Raffles Hotel Arcade) is for dinning and shopping. (Both Hotel and Arcade buildings are together, but serves different purpose)
You can tour the city with the traditional Tri-shaw
All the branded labels and iconic Long Bar are here in Raffles Hotel Arcade. This is the place where the
Singapore Sling originates Places where he might have went
He probably had breakfast here
The staircase at the arcade. You can see it already has the colonial vibe. I am sure the staircase in the actual Hotel itself is way more grand.
The old wooden lifts are all over the arcade. The staying Hotel has a more grand and more modern, suited for guests and their heavy luggage.
The Raffles Lawn
Ok, here is absolute confidence that he visited this place of the Hotel. The multi-windows building at the background
and the chairs
Edit on 29th august: In the movie, almost at the end of the movie, there is a scene where Kageyama meets XXXXX in a pavilion .
This is the pavilion in the same lawn where they took the group picture above.
This place is near the Gift Shop and near the guest rooms.
He most probably came here too, as the Gift Shop's souvenir is quite sophisticated and unique here.
The lounge at the entrance
And the entrance of the Hotel-for-staying is this.

The answer of seeing Sho's photo is: it's NOT public-viewable );
9 out of 10 staff I asked did not know where/what the Hall of Fame is.
Only one who knew, a senior cashier at the Gift Shop, told me it is STRICTLY for guest.
I refused to trust a few sources so I asked more sources and searched around.
I went to the Raffles Museum (It has already closed down and ceased to exist, but some staff doesnt know it has already closed, and the signs around the place still reflects the direction to the museum, though it is no longer available). I also checked the Galleries.
In total I spent 2 hours walking around both the Raffles Hotel and Raffles Arcade, asking people and exploring all possible routes, to confirm the excess to the Hall of Fame.
Yup, the Hall of Fame is really at the guest-only area.
And later I read an online article that confirmed that the Hall of Fame is not for public viewing.
It says that the doorman at the entrance of the hotel-for-staying also checks the identity of all guest entering the Hotel.
);
As expected of Raffles Hotel.
An iconic Singapore luxury hotel fit for even the British Royals (Duke and Duchess of Cambridge), Bill Clinton, Kofi Annan, security is tight ne~
Verdict: If you want to see Sho's pictures with your own eyes, come to stay in Raffles Hotel (;
Raffles Hotel is an attractive hotel located in the heart of the city, very convenient for sight-seeing around Singapore. It certainly will be a good place to stay!
If you would like to know more about Raffles Hotel..
- Official Website here
- The Hotel was quite well-described here
- Tourist brief review on Raffles Hotel (this confirmed the cruel fact that Hall of Fame was strictly non-public)
For my next tracing Sho's stay in Singapore post, I will trace the public viewable places where Sho and the NazoDi team went/did during their program:謎解きはディナーのまえに”!?in シンガポール and also his 影山の航海記録 in Jweb. Here's a preview:
One of the picture he took in 影山の航海記録 was very similar to this:
I don't want to publish the actual picture he took so I try to take as similar as the one he took.
