Sewing 7 of 10

A new skirt for me. Pictures coming soon but I wanted to get this up before I forgot to post about it.

It's the skirt that I'd cut out for me, and then used the leftovers to make a skirt for Tate. No, we will not wear them at the same time. Stop asking.

You sew too! Go you :) It's one thing I wish I could do. I am not shaped for off ther ack stuff, no matter what weight I am at.

I'm with you - I started sewing years ago, for much the same reason. My thighs are too big for most pants, proportional to the size I'm at (if I lose weight my thighs are smaller than they are now, but they are still larger than readymade thinks they should be for that size), and my calves are to big for everything. I actually have a waist, too, which seems to throw them.

Now that I've finally found boots that will fit my huge calves I've started wearing more skirts, and those are easy (and fun!) to make.

Ooooh, I have the same issue. VERY hourglassy so nothing fits. Also big calves, where do you find boots? I must know! :)

Right there with you - would be a SHAME if we had to go shopping together! ;)

As for boots - they are mail order, and not cheap, but AWESOME.

I have 4 pairs of boots from them right now, some I've had for 3 years (one pair is at the cobbler getting new soles, new heels and new zippers because I've worn them so much!)

I'll check it out, my favorite shoes/boots are Fluevogs but their shoe models apparently have tiny narrow feet and spindly calves so I can only wear lace-up boots from there, and just barely :)

I will ALWAYS take you up on a shopping date. October is "no buying stuff we really don't need" month, so this month I'm window shopping only. It's the first time we've ever tried it, so it's torture for me, LOL.

Hehe - yeah, October is going to be a little tight for me as well... I will be going shopping for kids clothes, but that's probably NOT the kind of window shopping you were hoping for!

November?

November for sure! We could hit Pleasant Prarie or maybe the Aurora Outlets. I usually find great deals there, especially at Pleasant Prarie outlet.

I just made out like a bandit at Kohls and Gap for kids stuff last week. I may not have kids, but all of my friends do so I like to buy cute stuff for all of them :)
