...that there is nothing to report. :P
My appointment with my OS wasn't today. It's Monday. Whee. So I'm still waiting.
Other than that, not much is happening. Spent the day either sleeping or playing Sims and trying to get my new email address working for UCR. I'm also trying to get into a long-term follow-up study back where I was originally treated; my hope is both that what they could learn off of my sorry self could be useful and that maybe they could help figure out what is going on with me. Heck, studies like this usually involve medical care and testing for free (because they need to study you), and I'm not opposed to that.
I'm kind of frustrated at the moment--I am just too tired to accomplish much lately, and that's discouraging. On the plus side, I got my TA contract for the year today. Three sections of Religious Myths & Rituals, working for/with the department chair. Woot? I'm still a little terrified, so we'll see how it all plays out. It doesn't start until Winter Quarter, so I have a brief period of time in which to acclimate myself to their routines.
I also have to figure out my budget for the year. Rent + food + medication + internet + books. I'm admittedly a little stressed by it; I'm trying to avoid taking out major loans, but at the same time, I don't know that I can avoid it. Happily, the bulk of my utilities are covered. All I have to pay for is phone (won't need it) and internet (will need it for research). I'm trying to sock away money from working this summer and trying to avoid major expenditures (save for gradually replacing the most worn-out, threadbare essentials of my wardrobe whenever there's a sale), but if I'm too tired to do anything, how the hell am I getting anything done?
Ah well. No sense in getting myself all worked up about it now, right? Closer to my move-in date, I'll sit down and itemize everything. No new clothes or electronics purchases once I move, buying in bulk where I can and buying on sale when I can't, and figuring how to eat as cheaply as possible. I know I'm not supposed to, but I may need to pick up some teaching time off campus during breaks or during the summer. And freelance writing. Lots of freelance writing.
