Dr. Jeff Masters:

The Canadian model has a rather omininous solution--the high pressure that builds in will be strong enough to push Ophelia southwestward, across northern Florida, and into the Gulf of Mexico five days from now. That's what Dr. Masters said in his latest blog update, at 2:59p CDT on Mon 9/12.

I currently live in Lafayette, LA, but lived in Gainesville, FL 1993-2005 and Destin, FL 1991-93 after growing up in central Alabama. I go back a ways with evilegg, that's who referred me to this post.

Ahhh, gotcha. Well, as you'll find out, I'm an amateur radio op / computer geek who happens to be into disaster prep/recovery, and for those purposes, a wannabe amateur meteorologist =)
