Crashing a Party...

The thing about Nephthys, Goddess of Death, was that she really wasn't quite as frightening as everyone imagined, upon first hearing her Egyptian assignment. Her duties were that of a comforter, councellor, and guide, much more than a harbinger. While it was true that sometimes the sheer mass of dead around her domain was rather daunting, for the most part, Nephthys was a gentle deity. Her temple remained a place of peace. A place of rest. Nephthys' priestesses reflected the aura of the temple, as well.

Therefore, when things like an uninvited, menacing Greek god came calling, and refused to leave (even for Set!), the priestesses had no idea what to do.

Except, of course, to run to get help. Seth was already there, doing what he could. Osiris couldn't come up. The rest of the Egyptians were sleeping, it seemed. That left only Isis.

And Isis was not home.

Frantic, Nephthys' priestess ran from Aset's doorstep, too worried to remember to say 'Thank you' to Isis' priestess. She headed toward the general direction of the Celtic Quarter. Having never left Nephthys' temple, she soon became lost. But after stopping for breathless directions a few times in the Greek Quarter, she finally managed to find Brighid's place.

The party was swinging! She felt intimidated, stepping into the forge.... All these gods and goddesses...! And Isis was here, somewhere?

Ducking her head, she quickly stepped in and began her search. As a mortal, her senses were not tuned to the types of energies that immortals so easily identify with each other. She searched for what felt like a long time, becoming even more frantic as she thought about the precious time wasted. What was going on at home? What would Set do? Was Nebt-het still all right? Would she be too late?

Finally, she gave up. Walking into the middle of the room, and praying that she would be forgiven for her irreverence, she raised her voice and yelled out...

"Aset! Help us!"
