Maiden Voyage

Chinese food was lovely, of course. Full of accidental little touches and bitten lips and stolen glances. But he'd had to go, and of course, she'd had to as well, but she hadn't made it back to the temple yet.

Slowly but surely, the Chaos in her head was clearing, her constant creation using up that energy to make strange and interesting lives even as her attention was distracting. It still wasn't all gone - there had just been so much, and Dite had only taken away a little - but her lucidity was at 100% and her knowledge...

Her knowledge filled her with a sense of foreboding.

And for what might have been the first time (if she could only remember), she didn't want to know.

Clotho left Phobos to his business, pointedly ignoring her own. Visits to friends were out of the question; she knew that they had their own troubles, especially Harmonia. Besides, she highly doubted Harmonia would be all that pleased with the idea of foreboding that might involve her brother anyway.

The youngest Fate was in London, on the bridge, sitting on the ledge, producing perfect, shining stones in small hands and skipping them on the Thames, neverminding that rivers don't skip stones as well as still waters, neverminding the passers-by who didn't know whether to approach her or not. A couple of people thought she was a jumper, but she made them go away. Escape from the Pantheon had become so easy - and it was such a tiny, short time ago that it had been so very, very hard to even leave the loom. But her thoughts; her thoughts were dogged in persistence, and she couldn't deny that she knew.

Someone was coming. Something. Someone. Someones.

She didn't want to see it. She didn't want to know.

And quicker than thought, quicker than anything, she was in the Egyptian Quarter of the Pantheon, at the front door of the one person who could make her forget - who could twist the knowledge up in her brain and make her simply Creation - purely random.

She knocked at Seth's door.

She'd leave the thinking to the others for now.

clotho, seth
