They were in the mortal world, in some park that Phlegethon had taken him to after being summoned by one of the River of Fire's brothers -
Akheron. They sat on the grass, Himeros lying stretched out with his head on Phlegethon's lap. It was beautiful day and he felt wonderful, simply wonderful

"The River of Woe and Pain isn't such a bad guy." He states using his brother, Akheron's, formal title. Although, why he'd done that was truthfully beyond him when he didn't like formalities.
But his fingers carding through Himeros' hair suddenly faulter. Those brown eyes feeling with fire because he felt... something wasn't right. Something was off and he didn't... "Hades." Okay... probably not the best thing to say another's name in front of your lover but he'd felt it... his God's passing.

Something had happened to Hades, the ruler of the Underworld. One of the immortals had passed and perhaps the entirety of their pantheon had felt it. He sat up and moved into Phlegethon's side - one might say he was snuggling. He just wanted to be held.
He never met Hades but everything felt different, wrong somehow and he didn't like the feeling. "Hades," he echoed.

But he didn't say anything. Merely held the Olympian close to him as fire filled brown eyes stared off into the distance.

His lover's consciousness seemed so far away.

He'd felt it. More than anything else he'd felt it. And he didn't like feeling such things. It was one thing to feel hate due to his sister's river being in his own but this... this was a bit much.

Because if his King had passed - the Fates forbid! - his own concern would be his family.
From where he was ensconced in Phlegethon's arms, Himeros took one hand in his and stroked is soothingly.

He had to be able to deal with himself first. Though he was loyal to his family. But reaching out he sensed that Styx wasn't in the Underworld and Lethe was with Pothos. Akheron was more than likely where they'd left him.
"We'll stay here."
For some reason he didn't want to return to the Underworld just yet.

After several moments of silence, he asked, "Will you be all right?" Phlegethon seemed...not so himself but he could assume that losing your King would make anyone act differently. "Can I do anything to make you feel better?"
The offer wasn't suggestive in nature, merely concerend - and yes, loving.

That devil may care attitude was back. Yep, it was definitely back and it was pure Phlegethon. He didn't need help. Nope... sure didn't. Not in the least bit. Oh no. Didn't need anything.
"You already are helping." He states simply placing a kiss to Desire's forehead.

"That's good then. I like making you feel better, feel good."
It was a part of him, he supposed. Longing as much as Desire, the instictual urge to make someone happy by any means necessary. And maybe that was why Pothos was so worried about him? Because his counterpart thought that Phlegethon would take advantage of him?
Himeros looked at the River of Fire.
No. Pothos would be wrong then. Phlegethon would treat him well. Mummy had liked him well enough.

"You do make me feel good, Himeros."
And he'd been doing that since... well, he didn't really have a 'since' but the Olympian made him, an Underworlder, feel good. That had to say something right there.

But not in the good way.
In a bad way.
Very, very bad.
Pothos was hurting.
Himeros was up and gone before anyone could have blinked.
