Phobetor had wanted to play with mummy, because mummy was fun and she saw things that jumped and sang and flew and didn't do any of that at all. Like the sky, really. She was fun, and she'd come back! Come back! Quack quack, mummy was back! But Phobetor still wasn't allowed to play with her.

Of course, to anyone else it may look like he was hammering bent nails into a bloodied piece of human skin that had been taped to a silver tea tray, but to Phobetor, it was a picture. A picture of mummy and daddy and Phobetor and Phantasos and the squiggles. He just had to add Morpheus, and it would be fixed.
