Looks like he is late, but Dionysos does not care. Just the site brings back memories. Not of Ares per say, but of times when his need to prove something to the world and maybe to the others on the mountain, prior to ascending and Hestia giving him her chair on Olympus

She noted where Prometheus was, then noticed that the Guard by Ares temple (what was left of them) were being held by Erebos. No thanks.
She headed in the opposite direction, unwittingly doing exactly what Erebos had just told Prometheus to do -- search and destroy.
It was a merry little chase. She took her time.
And if she accidentally spilled flashes of blinding pride and the deepseated desire for violence into the darkness around her, oops... She smiled to herself.

Moments later, he senses one and without hesitation, his leopard form pounces to the soldiers dismay. Flesh, be it mortal, immortal, animal or man; it tastes just the same and Dionysos eats to his heart's content.

Bree had been wrong about not wanting to come and do this. This was fun! Every so often, she released more and more of her power into the darkness, knowing full well that Erebos would be feeling it. If she was careful, if she was discreet, she could fill him so full of pride that he wouldn't notice the kernels of violence she kept on adding, so much slower. Maybe she could fuck him up.
The vengeance for his asshole ways would be great. She smiled just at the thought of it.
Making her way merrily to the leopard, she offhandedly drew an Arean Guard out into the open with a bolt of insolence. It was the last mistake he ever made, leaving the sentry position where he had been standing.

He considers going after another, but he’s more than satisfied at the moment. God or no, his belly is getting full. As Hybris edges closer, he nudges an arm to her. Being in this form sort of brings some of the leopard’s qualities to the forefront. Sharing a kill with one who has seen him through many fits of wrath, he looks up with bloodied mouth and purrs.

She crouched down beside the purring cat and pet his head.
"You're a nice one," she said. "Do I know you?"

There is that and she asked a question. Now how does he want to answer? Letting out an obnoxious growl as if speaking, a glass of wine appears in Hybris' free hand. When she is just about to look at said glass, he licks the petting one, lapping up any blood that he finds. Greedy boy.

Oh, damn, that was good. Better than any mortal grape. Was this the wine god, then?
"Dionysus? Is that you under all that fur?"
She sipped the wine again. After all, this kind of imbibement required savoring, and Hybris never had a problem enjoying what she liked.

What to do. What to do. He considers not drinking, but he is the god of the beverage, he muses not without a heap of egotism. It would take a lot more than a bowl to inebriate him. More to the point, what would his dad say if there was a drunken leopard on the mountain?
He gives Hybris a “What do you want to do?” look before draining the bowl.

Well. Wasn't that interesting? She continued to scritch his head, just in that spot behind his ear.
"Would you like to go along with me? I'm rounding up stragglers. It's all that my mom thinks I can do, you know."
She rolled her eyes.
"But you and I could go and have some more fun. It looks like you were enjoying this, at least. Or am I wrong?"
She gave him another brilliant smile. And much more scritches.

Having known both order and chaos in his life, Dionysos is split between wanting to actively pursue and holding back. They aren't attacking; these guards, as he thought they would be, but he's tasted blood and wants more. And the smiles from Hybris aren't hurting either.
Another nod and a nudge against her leg, to let her know he wants to go with.

"Then we should! It's Dark, but I think we can see well enough to do what we want to, don't you?"
Standing from where she had been crouching, she gestured out toward the north.
"Come on, then, my beastly god!"
And the hunt was on!!

There, straddled and pinned. Dionysos peers down but does not puncture anything yet. Sniffing just to make sure it was an Arean soldier, he tears the throat out so quickly that no one would have been able to stop him
Another one nearby-he doesn't look up, as he knows Hybris will get hers. His was already dead. He was not going to eat this one, so he patiently waits for Hybris to do her thing.

She decided that she liked LeopardDio very much indeed.
Then he turned his head and stared at her as if expecting something.
"Of course," she said, winking to him. When she strode past him, she pat the top of his head lightly.
But finding another guard was hard work. They were scattered, divided, leaderless, and to their shame, they were hiding. One could not blame them, for who would want to face a leopard and Violence herself? But even still, she was a goddess, he was a god, and they were meant to deal with threats from gods. This was just pathetic. She thought Ares would have been more capable than to employ pansies in his guard ( ... )

Then she just started laughing.
She couldn't stop. Oh, that was hilarious! What sort of ferocious animal pierces himself on a mace?!
"Dio..!" she gasped out between laughter, "You idiot!"
The laughter bubbled out of her along with tears. It was lovely!
Staggering over to the leopard, she none-too-gently pushed him over onto his right side, then yanked the mace out. Ah yes, violence to a god! Was there any better high?

By the time he has finished going back to his normal form, Dionysos is laughing as well. He doesn't bother with a new shirt yet, for he is waiting for the deep scratches to begin healing.
"But I am a cute idiot," he rasps, chuckling. Holding his side as he stands with Hybris' help; indignant or not, it is damn funny scenario.
"Just give me a moment and we can continue." By the time he says that, the wound is closed enough for him to flash a shirt on, using gauze to placate until the healing is done.
