Father

Father was, gone.

Dike sat on the steps of a temple to an Egyptian God she knew little about. Other than he had a talkative daughter and he apparently liked pie.

Father had been overthrown by Strife and Harmonia. As if father had ever not been filled with mischief and trouble and shifting constantly out of balance.

Her mother. Was her mother lost to her now ? Locked in some dim dimension behind a wall in the palace that now belonged to her half-brother ? Themis, she who should and previously had been one of Zeus' most trusted advisors. Until the years changed, and the people changed and the sacrifices were less and the Gods passed into the realm of myths. And then, Justice became a thing Zeus no longer seemed to want to hear.

She'd sat beside her mother, the consummate virgin child, untouchable by her father for years and watched and watched until the day with a wave of his hand....

And she'd spread herself out, become incorporeal, essence, icon. Lady Justice, holding the memory of her mother within her. Father, Father had seemed mad in those years, but before, he'd held no malice against her. And now he was gone. And perhaps, the secret of where and how to save her titaness mother was gone with him.

A symbol on a temple across the way caught her eye. A feather, a scale. Justice ? Here among the Egyptians ? Dike stood and made her way closer, curious if anyone around could tell her more.
