Supernatural 6.01
Well, that was... underwhelming.
I hate to admit it, but I fast-forwarded through a bunch of the initial domestic!Dean part. *shrugs* (I was Tivoing and came in a touch late.) It was like a poor-man's WIAWSNB: all of the boring with none of the sweet edge of angst. (Plus the djinn in WIAWSNB was creepy and ancient and alien, not Random Bland TV Extra #3.)
Also, as much as I like Grandpa Campbell (oh man, he's so going to have his own agenda and subsequently betray the brothers and I'm READY FOR THAT SHIT TO GO DOWN!), they did a pretty lame job of introducing the Three Amigos Cousins. I cared more about Ellen, Jo, and Ash in about .6 seconds than I did these three in the entire ep.
And once again, they have no idea what they want to do with Sam in his own right, other than someone for Dean to respond against. (There was so much wasted potential there in every scene they had together. *sigh*)
The end scene was bullshit. If only because 6'5'' Sam would never fit comfortably into a little sportscar like that. ;)
You know, I think one of the few down-sides of being in fandom is that you read all of these varied and brilliant versions of how the show could possibly stage the reunion (e.g. fleshflutter's comment fic meme), and the real thing just refuses to live up to them.
At least both boys were ridiculously GORGEOUS tonight. I'm going to try to cling to that... It's what got me through much of Season 5.
