"Jensen, this is your third year competing in the Olympics but your first medal, and a gold medal at that. How does it feel to finally be on top?"

Beside him, his horse whickered, and Jensen struggled to keep a straight face. "It feels amazing, Briana. I mean, I've worked for this for a long time, and I've been able to learn from my past mistakes, and I'm just thrilled with how things turned out today."

"Speaking of learning from the past, I understand that this isn't the same horse you jumped with in your previous Games."

"No, no, he's not." Jensen reached up to stroke his nose. "I wasn't looking for a new horse after London, but then Tristan came along, and we just clicked."

"It certainly seems like you are perfectly in sync," Briana replied. "Watching the two of you go over those jumps, it's like you hardly need to signal to him; he just knows what to do."

"Well, he's a pretty smart horse." Jensen scratched Tristan's nose and got another whicker in response. "Aside from that, it's just lots and lots of training."

"And that has certainly paid off for you today," she cheerfully replied. "I'll let you get back to your horse and your-fiancé, right? Jared? He was here earlier, wasn't he?"

"Yeah, that's Jared." Jensen felt his cheeks heating up. "It's kind of a thing I have: I get more nervous if he's in the audience, and he says he can see me better on TV anyway, so he doesn't come to my competitions. But I'll meet up with him later."

"Because you have a lot to celebrate," she winked. Then she turned to the camera and said with a sunny smile, "Back to you, Bob!"

Jensen walked his horse back to the stables, reluctantly handing him over to a stablehand. Normally, he preferred to rub down Tristan himself, but then, usually it was just the two of them at the stable in Austin. He caught a lot of flak for not training with the rest of the team in New Jersey, but given their unusual situation, he didn't have much of a choice.

He accepted the congratulations of the rest of the team and slipped away, claiming he had to meet up with Jared. Really, though, he needed a moment to himself, to bask in the realization of achieving the dream he'd had since he was ten years old. He found a quiet place on the edge of the equestrian grounds, at the top of a small rise.

Guanabara Bay was a distant splash of blue across the hills and valleys of Rio. Jensen realized that he might actually get a chance to see the city now, with his events concluded and his plane ride home not for a few more days. All he wanted was his fiancé to share it with him.

The sound of footsteps on the grass caught his attention, and he looked over his shoulder. To his shock, it was Jared walking towards him.

Jensen sprang to his feet. "Shouldn't you be in the stable?"

"No one will notice," Jared replied. "All the events are over for the night."

"Still, you have to be careful. I mean, not that I’m not glad to see you, but-"

"I had to see you," Jared said. He came right up to Jensen and wrapped his arms around him. "Congratulations, gold medalist."

As Jared ducked his head, Jensen rose up on his toes to meet him in a kiss. Instantly, the antsiness he'd felt ever since finishing his run on the course evaporated, leaving him with nothing but the soft warmth of Jared's mouth on his. He breathed in deeply, loving the scent of horse and man that washed over him.

"Sorry." Jared ducked his head as he leaned away. "I didn't exactly get a chance to shower."

"'S okay, I kind of like it." Jensen put his arms around Jared's neck and nuzzled at his neck. "How long can you stay?"

"I was gonna come with you," Jared said, tilting his head to give Jensen better access to his neck.

Jensen drew back and frowned. "You should stay here."

For a guy who was almost six and a half feet tall, Jared sure could pout like a little boy. "But I wanna celebrate with you."

"Jared, we can't risk it." Jensen quickly kissed him. "I want to be with you, too. But there's so many people around, and if an Olympic horse goes missing, there'll be hell to pay."

"I know." Jared sighed. "At least you arranged for Tristan to be shipped back home in a couple of days, right?"

"Tomorrow night," Jensen said. "As soon as you're on the ship, your brother will be there to let you out and take care of an empty stall all the way back to Houston."

"So tomorrow night, I have you all to myself?" Jared grinned.

"Absolutely."

"Mmm." He traced a line down Jensen's chest, over his white stock tie and dark brown coat. "I want to see you wearing your medal. And nothing else."

Jensen's cock twitched in his tight white breeches, but he still frowned. "I wish there was a medal for you, too."

"You could ask for a second one and say it's for your horse."

"No, seriously, Jared. You do all the work. I just ride around on you."

Jared waggled his eyebrows, and Jensen rolled his eyes. "Seriously."

"Okay, seriously." Jared slid his hands down Jensen's arms and intertwined their fingers. "You have no idea how amazing it is to be able to share this with you. Not just the Olympics, but the training, and this…" He waved a hand back and forth between them. "I mean, just being able to be myself around you-all of myself-is incredible. So many weres never get to do that with anyone outside their own families."

"It's still not fair," Jensen muttered.

"Neither is having to lie about where your boyfriend is after you win a gold medal."

"Well, soon we can put an end to that." He squeezed Jared's hands. "I'm retiring."

Jared frowned. "Are you sure?"

"Dude, I won a gold medal. That's it. Can't go any higher." He let go with one hand to run his fingers through Jared's hair. "Besides, I got other things I want to do with you."

"Gonna put me out to stud?" Jared asked, raising one eyebrow.

"I'm the only one you're gonna be servicing," Jensen mock growled.

"Damn straight." Jared grinned and kissed him again, locking his arms around Jensen's waist.

Jensen melted into the kiss, reasoning that they could stay out here on the course for a little while longer. After all, they were Olympic champions.

Tee hee! But how fitting that Jared should be gripped between Jensen's lovely bow legs...

Adorable! I love the balance between the advantages and disadvantages of having your fiance also be your racing horse.

The reporter's unintentional 'on top' joke made me snort.

Here's another cheer for the "on top" joke. :D

I love your light touch, sketch of a much bigger story here, and a sweet romantic one! Love.
