Day 2: Favourite Episode
I'm going to call it a tie... between Who Are You? and Storyteller.
Who Are You? is a brilliant depiction of a villain gradually coming to realise what she's done with her life, and how much that's a bad thing, and to want something else but not quite know how to get there yet. Storyteller is... almost exactly the same thing.
Both are angsty as all get out.
And yet... both are extremely funny.
I love:
- Faith pretending to be Buffy in the bathroom mirror
- Andrew dreaming up dramatic introductions to his audience
- the stunning seduction of Spike
- the wondrous depiction of breakfast
- the whole Stevedore discussion
- the Trio flashbacks, with emphasis on Andrew's awesomeness
I also love:
- Faith beating the crap out of herself (...if that makes sense)
- Andrew turning the camera off
They are both extraordinary in how much is left unsaid and how much that doesn't matter, because the whole story is right there on their faces. It's just wonderful.
