It's raining heavily, but I am snugly warm and dry (except for my feet). Victorian-era clothing has a lot going for it.
Currently, I'm wearing a camisole and bloomers, petticoats, a floor-length skirt, and a shirt. Consequently, I am extremely warm and dry.
I am not wearing any other items of Victoriana, such as gloves, a hat, or high boots. Hence, I came into work with cold hands and a cold head, and still have wet feet.
Seriously - comfy clothing, that is apparently far more practical than I'd thought. It's ideally suited for cold-and-wet, Englandy weather. (It also looks weird, but then, I've spent most of my life being weird, so that's not really going to stop me now.)
*feels steampunkily fashionable*
