A Daycare How-to Guide

LESSON ONE: How to go from a 5 minute time out to a 25 minute time out in the span of a minute.

Take a child who didn't have a good afternoon at school and mix in the fact that he's not listening to the daycare teachers. Tell him if he doesn't stay up against the wall he gets a 5 minute time out. He doesn't move, so it goes up to 10. He pipes up with I want 13. Okay, let's make this 15; do you want a 15 minute time out? No response or movement so we're now at 15.

He pipes up again and says I want 21. Are you sure? Yep. He's still not at the wall, so we're gonna make this 25.

He FINALLY moves to the wall and stays there.

Yes, there was warning counting in between all those numbers.

Sometimes kindergartners are hilarious.
