“Becker, not that I’m ungrateful, but why?”
Matt looked a little bewildered by all his Christmas presents, piled neatly beside the discarded wrapping paper.
“I imagine toys weren’t a high priority when you were a child,” Becker explained. “Every boy should have lego and toy soldiers at some point in their lives.”
Matt’s expression wavered between sad and stunned for a moment. Then a smile appeared, and Becker found himself being thoroughly hugged.
Twenty minutes later, Becker’s army of medieval knights (with tanks) were laying siege to Matt’s half-constructed lego space station and its Napoleonic infantry defence force (with miniguns).
