I think Stephen was right, but we know Cutter doesn't take well to contradiction. And taking it out on Abby was hardly fair.

And they can hardly blame Mark for being confused.

I enjoyed writing Lester a surprising amount for this. I think the fact that he has kids seemed to make him want to get involved.

The thing with Nick and Stephen in series 2 is that they both have good points and valid arguments, so neither one is necessarily right or wrong, but the problem is that they've just stoppped listening to each other.

thanks. Lester was fun to write, and I'm sure he does care, although he'll probably say it's just because he doesn't want Connor being distracted from his job by being too upset!

*meep* Somehow I think the last line is absolutely right. This is really gripping... so glad you have this all written because I couldn't stand having to wait for it hehehe.

Oh, and love the references to Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay ... found my first proper fossil at Robin Hood's Bay too this summer ;)

I remember fossil hunting in Whitby and Robin Hood's bay when I was a kid, and it's only an hour or so's drive from West Yorkshire, so it was the obvious place for Connor and his family to get to for days out

Poor Conner! Poor Mark! This has got to be hardest on them most of all.

And I can understand Cutter's point here. I know Stephen meant well but still this could have turned out worse and it STILL could. Only time will tell.

Lester was spot-on in this! And the scene between Connor and his father was very tense and moving.

Thanks, I'm glad that scene worked because it was one of those scenes that had to have the right impact to carry the whole fic.
