Connor bounced around the flat singing cheesy Christmas songs. The decorations were done, the presents were under the tree, now it was just the finishing touches.
He hung up two large woollen socks, both filled with silly little things - chocolate, fruit, random plastic toys. Stocking fillers, literally. One labelled ‘Abby’, the other ‘Connor’.
He paused. Something was missing.
Rex chittered, his little claws still pawing at the tiny Santa hat that Connor had put on him earlier.
Connor grinned. That was it. He added a third sock, this one labelled ‘Rex’.
After all, he was part of the family too.
