I've done this for the past couple of years. It's interesting to see when I'm having distinct non-fiction phases, or when I've found a book series I enjoy and binged on them back to back.
One thing I have definitely noticed over the last couple of years is that I'm either reading books *or* I'm catching up on a backlog of writing/archaeology/astronomy magazines. I don't really seem to read both at the same time, and I have no idea why that should be.
I sometimes get stuck on a topic. A coupleof years ago it was Richard III/The Plantgenets. Both fiction and non-fiction. I read loads of them! Then I stop completely.
Can you recommend any good books about Richard III and the Plantagenets? I read a book last year was a good general introduction (I think it was called The Demon Brood, or something), and it was interesting enough that I might be looking for something a bit more detailed.
There's one that I keep seeing in bookshops called The Plantagenets, by Dan something.. North, maybe? It looks good, but I'm probably more likely to try to get it from the library than to actually buy it.
