With hindsight, feeding Rex so much chocolate had been a bad idea. If the god of chaos had a physical form, Connor was beginning to suspect it might look rather like a coelurosauravus on a sugar high.
“Rex, mate, come on. Abby’ll be home soon.”
Rex chirped and circled the room, no doubt looking for another perch from which he could dive-bomb Connor’s hat. Again. Regardless of whether or not Connor was wearing it.
They both heard the door opening, and he saw the lizard’s eyes light up.
Rex dived. Connor only had time to yell one thing.
“Abby! Duck!”
