After a week in the Oligocene, Connor was used to Becker’s scepticism.
“It’s a fish trap. It’s not meant to be sexy.”
“It’s all... wonky.”
“That’s what you said about the shelter as well, but that works.”
Becker snorted. “It fell down after three days.”
“Trial and error,” Connor muttered defensively.
“More error than trial, if you ask me.”
“Fine!” Connor stood up and hurled the pile of branches and twine at Becker. “You bloody do it then!”
Three hours later, Becker came back with a thoroughly mangled botch job, and an apology.
