Connor was like a devoted puppy, always following her around, getting under her feet. The comparison also seemed apt for his undisguised affection and sloppy cuddles.
Like a puppy, he left a trail of mess and destruction in his wake, and yet she could never stay angry with him for long when he looked at her with those big, dark eyes.
Like a confused, lost puppy, he always came back to her, no matter how many times she kicked him.
It wouldn’t have been so bad if she was a dog lover.
Unfortunately, Abby had always been a lizard girl.
