Let the bus hit you
So that no one asks, I am fine. If you ask me how I am, I will tell you that I am dead.
The short version of the story is a bus I was following moved to the right lane. I started to pass it. It started to move back to the left lane. I tried to avoid an accident. So I hit the cement barrier in the center of the road and on the side of the road. No one else was involved. The bus didnt stop. Thank God for witnesses. And the powers of observation. My car is pretty messed up. It better be deemed totaled.
The state trooper who responded was able to contact the bus company. They figured out the bus and driver. The driver admitted to seeing the accident. But claims to have done nothing wrong. Thankfully there are witnesses who stopped that said the same things I did. The bus driver was issued a citation. The insurance company is going to try to collect all the expenses from the bus company. If they cant, than I will sue the bus company. And I will expect more from the bus company than the insurance company would be able to go for.
So hopefully I will be able to stick out the day at work. Because I definitely dont have any sick time to use. Damn bus driver. I hope they lose their license!
Oh, and as for the title. If I had just let the bus hit me. There would be none of this. The bus company would be completely responsible without any extra effort on my part.
