I hope everyone had a good Christmas. I was quite glad with my detachment from the real reason of Christmas this year in not going to any sort of carol-singing or church event. I was admittedly distracted by the never-ending commercialism that is inherent with it nowadays. Not that I minded at all. My shop made a killing. Christmas is the only form of rampant consumerism I support. The time of year when one can just let go...
The day itself was nice. I just hung out with my brothers and watched DVDs and cooked. We all did pretty well in the present department. It's a shame so much of it was edible however. Argh... fatness!!!! Too much food.
My birthday was fun even though, like pretty much every year, my mother highjacked it so was could all go on a rather bucolic, reminiscent-of-Victorian-England, berry-picking, picnic-having trip to the countryside. It was nice. Dad gave me my WOMAD ticket!!!!!! (I'm so stoked) I had the obligatory go-to-a-pub-and-buy-alchy-coz-I-can drink at Molly's that evening, too. Marika came. Good to see 'er.
I'm listening to a band called Jakob. All their songs sound kinda the same but it's all good coz they sound fucking cool!
I got a Toshiba Gigabeat for my birthday, too. It fucking rocks. 30GB. videos. pictures. music. radio. tv (??? haven't figured it out yet). I'm finding out how to rip vids from youtube so i can put some vids on it. It's cool, I've only got 12gb of music on my comp, only half of which i really want on my player which leaves heaps of room for movies and shit. It has an a-v connector too so I can play them on a tv. YAY!!! ... and apparently they're much mor stable than iPods *wink*...
Went to Hunter's drinks last night with Mk. It was a great night. Got drunk for Champagne...which I bought!!! YAY!
