Bit by common words

The non-native English speaker in me reared its ugly head again last club session.  In my second game I challenged TEETHES, which I later learned is how you spell the word when a child is cutting teeth.  Ironically, the same game I played the not too common TENTAGES.  Sadly, my opponent held it but did not challenge for he needed the S to play a bingo.  Another booboo in that game was that I lost it because of a careless 1 point mistake in counting a score.  Should have been a tie.  Well, should have been a win actually if I saw the out in two.
