Jointer Moved
Thanks much to M. and J. for coming to help with the jointer move today... based on how we were able to shift it around I'm guessing something near 200 pounds. We strapped it to a board and got the board onto a hand truck, which simplified matters somewhat. Leverage. That's the key.
The jointer now is sitting in the shop, on a mobile tool stand I had still hanging around, with a base I made on the fly while J. got the tool base into the right shape... it will be very stable when needed. Now I need to go figure out how I'm going to mount the overhead air cleaner I bought from the same guy, and then do some cleaning, adjusting, and learning on the jointer.
