Man, it was a pretty good show! The setlist probably doesn't look like much, but it was actually a very good selection of songs. The two stand outs for me were The Dark Eternal Night, which had an awesome backing video, and is just great fun live. A serious mosh pit broke out right in front of me! Lines in the Sand was pretty special; it's a great song, and they played it perfectly, with a bit of embellishment.

LaBrie is on some serious form at the moment. Not only is he singing note-perfect, but he didn't do his whole wailing embellishment bollocks which can sound so horrible. And he was quite animated, unlike when I saw them last and on the Score DVD.

My only couple of gripes is that the second half of In the Presence of Enemies is still far too shit, and that I can really sense the band's collective ego coming through in the shows. There was A LOT of wank between songs, and at one point JP went and sat down by JR while they played, and Myung went and sat by MP. It was /very/ poncey.

But seriously Jordan Rudess on the keytar is the best thing EVER. He came across the stage and ripped it up with JP, then went back to his rig and soloed on the keyboard, then back onto the keytar, then onto the continuum, then the continuum and the keyboard at the same time, then ALL THREE AT THE SAME TIME. He is a God.

So yeah, all in all it was a good night!
