Customer Service

What on earth is up with customer service these days?

We have been fine-tuning our finances recently, and I saw that Dan had some "reward points" that needed to be redeemed on this Capital One credit card. So, I go through the painstakingly long process of signing into his account. I had hoped that his "points" would help us for our plane tickets to Vegas in April, but sadly we are 55k too short.

Yeah, and he has had this card active for ten years.

So, then I notice that he has an obscene APR, and so today I call them. Sadly, I am not authorized to negotiate to lower his APR, only make other "cosmetic" changes to the account. The gal I was speaking too called me "Ma'am" every three words, and sounded like she was on break from gym class or something.

Then yesterday, I got my new shiny copy of ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS in. Oh yeah, I got myself a legal copy for fifty bucks on E Bay. So I sit down to the computer, pop it in the CD Drive...and nothing happens. It will start to run, and give me the screen showing the license, terms of use and "click here to begin download" but then nothing happens.

So I call the Adobe Customer Service line, thinking that there must be something easy I could do. I mean, sure it's a older product but surely it will work, right? I talk to a man who's accent is just...thicker than mud and after registering me in the system, taking my name, age, number, address..etc etc he tells me there is NOTHING HE CAN DO TO HELP ME. Seriously? Not a darn thing? Nothing?

I have to submit a inquiry to the technical help desk and wait 24-48 hrs for someone to get back to me in email, but since it is a older product they can not guarantee that they can help me.

Now I have some idiot with HR Block telling me she can not do our taxes without Dan present.

..I am not a happy kitty at the moment.

Thanks for letting me vent.
