That's right. I went there.
I'm considering making a web page/blog veined in the subject of gaming and game design. On the site I plan to post articals, video blogs, and general news about gaming in general, as well as related articals from the net.
A big part of it will be game reviews. I believe that game reviews in general have gone drastically down in quality since I've been a gamer. Once they could be trusted to give general detail and insight to a game and offer advice to if that was the game for you. Now it seems that all anyone is interested in is contradiction and general "against the grain" popularity. Reviews that more or less size up the title and pick it apart like mad vultures with seratied wing tips and adimantium claws, rather than try to explain useful information about the game.
I feel passionate about this and it will give me something to do in a constructive sence.
I know alot of you are thinking..."You can't even maintain this blog ya' twit..." and you'd be right. Can't say that much will change in that regard, but maybe it's what I need to get out of this rut that I'm in. Give me some motivation and some self-esteem to know that I can actually accomplish something.
Just something for a bit of fun, I decided to accumulate a list of gamer titles from what I've seen from people on the internet. Some can be shared others stand on their own.
Elitest Gamer: You must think you're pretty bad ass sitting high and mighty on scores that some gamers only drool over. You knocked out Tyson, slaughtered alien worlds, and resqued the princess...but no one can seem to do it quite as well as you.
Weekend Gamer: Rental queu a bit backed up? You don't know what you do or don't like that you can't even make a comittment. How is the ex-girlfriend by the way?
Retro-Gamer. What the f*ck is Halo? Killzone 2? Mario Galaxy?? You're to busy playing games with characters made of pixels the size of lego's to pay attention to anything that's been released in the past 10 years.
Hardcore Gamer: RAWWWR!!! HARD MODE IS TO EASY FOR YOU!! YOU'VE BEATEN THE GAME, GOT ALL THE EXTRAS, AND DOMINATED MULTIPLAYER. AND YOU JUST SAT DOWN!! Of course you'll have to take the game developers word that thats what women look like, as you've never seen a real one, have you?
Casual Gamer: Do I have time to be a gamer today?..I don't know. Guess I could play a game. Well if I decide to waist my time with a silly video game it can't be too long, or difficult. Oh yeah I only own one game. Well golly gee that makes it easy. Look out grandma, your wrinkly ass is finally going down!
