Yes, we definitely wanted there to be a big change in this chapter, and Andrea to be the one to facilitate it. So glad it shows that Andrea is the one going after what she wants here! I think that nearly being killed would totally motivate an already reasonably confidant woman like Andrea to just throw caution into the wind. But, that being said, there are always consequences for acting without thinking/reasoning!

Ooooh, sex does indeed complicate things (in a very delicious way :) ). I can totally see Sharon being overwhelmed and it just coming out physically this way:

Sharon had the overwhelming urge to touch her, hold her, even kiss her.

And the panic that sets in for her after. Nice that Andrea makes the first move. Can't wait to see where this goes!

We had a long discussion for how Sharon would let her feelings out- she is very good with words, but she is also very careful with them. We came to the conclusion (and this is also totally canon, if you watch the show carefully you'll notice that Sharon touches EVERYONE) that Sharon is a very tactile person, so we wanted to convey that with Andrea getting shot-Sharon has a need to know, physically, that Andrea is really okay and in one piece.

Yes it does! But sex can also complicate things emotionally...especially when two really close friends cross that line.

I'm glad you felt that Sharon's reaction was in character, it's something that sharon_ray and I discussed a lot. We noticed that she tends to touch (or reach out wanting to touch) someone when they're distressed or when she's distressed, she's very tactile. We thought it would make sense for her to react in such a way, especially given the fact that Andrea was shot.

So sorry for the late reply! I started a really demanding new job this past week and this weekend I was at Fan Expo all of Saturday and Sunday, I'm beat! :P

This is perfect after a brush with death, all that adrenalin knocking down the barriers. A lovely mix of heat and first-time wanting to do everything all at once, balanced with Sharon's wondering what happens next, to their friendship, their working relationship. And that they're so good together ha to make that even trickier.

Exactly. This, coupled with Sharon's fear of ruining their friendship, is really going to be the main struggle for the two of them. Also, while the sex was absolutely smoking, sometimes becoming physically intimate with a longtime friend can complicate things heavily; especially when the two friends are in the process of falling for one another, but neither one of them has felt ready or right in expressing their feelings yet.
