Tomorrow she would be the first woman to walk on Venus. Hell, the
first human, man or woman! It was a long ways from training and waiting
to see if you had made the cut. The blonde swallowed and turned as Jen
came in. Jen forced a grin. She was keyed up too. Zoe flashed a smile with
more confidence than she actually felt. It was finally going to happen. Today.
" So, all set? " Jen asked clearing her throat. Zoe nodded and then she
shrugged her shoulders.
" My whole life I've been waiting for this moment." Zoe said blushing.
" I know. " Jen replied as she fought to keep her emotions in check.
" Zoe, this is the beginning of something special."
" Life altering." Zoe nodded blushing.
Jen sealed the hatch and walked over to her friend. Cupping her face
with her hands, Jen leaned in and kissed Zoe using every ounce of
love she had for the blonde to convey what she was feeling. The kiss was
thorough and virtually consumed her, Zoe was gasping for air when Jen
finally released her. The two women stood silent with their foreheads
pressed together. Wordlessly Zoe unzipped her jumpsuit and gently pulled
Jen to the floor where she had made a pallet and kissed her. It was a gentle
kiss, exploring, tentative. Her lover pinned her to the floor and began slowly
undressing her, whispering endearments as her hands caressed satin skin.
Zoe felt herself almost drifting like she had felt when she was on the end of the
tether except this was euphoric.
" Zoe - I love you! " Jen cried holding her tightly as they lay in a tangle.
" I love you too Jen - so much." Zoe admitted tearfully. This was the
moment Zoe had worried she'd never have. She was in love and Jen Crane
loved her back. The two friends were now lovers after five years of friendship
and reined in desire. Now, on the eve of the Venus landing, Jen and she had
made love. Zoe smiled whobbily. It was absolutely life altering.
