The fall 2008 semester is over! It is now winter break! I couldn't be more excited and relieved to be done with that semester! Now I only have one semester to go before heading to life in the real world! Should I be this excited? I guess probably yes and no. I am excited to be done with tests and finally be able to specialize in what I want to do (though the tests aren't officially done, with grad school and the CPA exam in the future). However, then I actually have to have a reality check, between having a full-time job, paying for bills, filing my own taxes, etc.
Got my grades in today, which I couldn't be happier with. I got an A in Strategic Analysis, and an A- in Advanced Accounting and Taxes! I was expecting a B at the highest in Taxes, so an A- was a huge sigh of relief! Next semester, I only have to take three courses to graduate. So I am taking Auditing and an elective that are both on Tuesday-Thursdays. That way, I have Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays open to do an internship (for credit) with Shaheen & Pallone and be able to work those days. I wanted to take either Advanced Taxation or Accounting Information Systems, but they were on Wednesday-Fridays or Monday-Wednesdays.
My house lost power on Thursday at 10:00PM. I was supposed to go home on Friday, but because Merrimack lost power too, the school shut down for Friday and would remain open till Saturday. Merrimack got its power back at around 2:00PM, so I spent the night over there again because there was heat. Saturday into Sunday I spend at my grandparents apartment in North Andover. We got our power back Sunday, and thankfully we were able to go home Sunday night. Being home has been awesome, but it has also been pretty dull because most of my friends are still in school. So basically I have just been working and spending some time with the family.
Christmas is 9 days away! I am very proud of myself because I finished my Christmas shopping about a week ago. All I have left to do is the wrapping. I gave Benny his gift already since I won't see him for Christmas - I got him one of the new Bruins third jerseys with Savard on the back. He got me a pair of winter boots that he gave to me before he left, and I guess he has some more stuff for me for when I next see him, which will probably be around New Years.
I am going to get ready for bed. I'm trying to get to work for the morning instead of the afternoon, as long as the weather permits. Goodnight.
