Still loving life... for the most part
I went to a yoga class today. I liked it for the stretching aspect because I went to a pilates class on tuesday that kicked my ass, so it was good to stretch out all the kinks. But the woman teaching it was a little crazy. but hey, it's cool. I'll probably keep going.
The people at the catering company I work for are being dinks. I don't even want to get into the story, but lets just say that I might not end up working there after all. I got so upset today that as soon as I got off the phone with them I printed off six resumes, stormed out of the apartment and distributed them all over Broadway.
So now I may be hostessing at a restaurant called Al Dente. I put in an application there a while ago, then the owner called asking if I'd be interested in babysitting her son, but I told her I already had some jobs lined up, so I gave her Pam's number and now Pam babysits her son. Today pam was telling Mona (the owner) about what was going on with me, so she told her to have me come to the restaurant tomorrow because she's looking for a new hostess. It would be about three nights a week for five hours. It's a good start.
I'll probably end up working at Starbucks or Ben and Jerry's during the day. Not as glamorous as the catering company, but i'm over it. I just need money, so I don't really care what I'm doing to get it (within reason). I may still work for CTI, but I don't know how often.
Tonight I had free tickets to see Gretchen Wilson (she sings Red Neck Woman) in concert at Radio City Music Hall. The seats were fantastic, and it was probably one of the best concerts I've ever seen. She is one talented woman: She sang a bunch of her songs, a loretta lynn song, "Baracuda" by Heart, a Led Zeplan song, a Billie Holiday song, some bluegrass... she covered so many different styles, and did them all beautifully. Her voice is a POWER HOUSE. I was amazed. And the pyrotechnics were out of this world. Being in Radio City Music Hall (especially only 4 days after the Tony's) was incredible in itself. Steph and I got champagne too, which was kind of fun because they had these little light-up sticks in them.
Watch for me on Regis and Kelly tomorrow morning! Kayla and I are gonna try to get on again.
